Heely Millennium Boulder

The boulder is constructed from our hand carved, spray concrete system, which is designed to replicate a 'hybrid Limestone Gritstone' finish. It provides similar texture to that found in the Peak District National Park and has a concentration of holds in a attempt to provide extensive potential for problems, for both novice and expert.
The concept is for a completely natural and unmanaged facility. At 3.5 metres high and 10 meters long it is 'Y' shaped in plan to maximize the climbing area and is full of features naturally found on the rocks of the area including rounded Gritstone breaks and cracks and Limestone pockets and edges. The floor is finished with a poured rubber crumb safety surface so there is no need for your own bouldering mat. With ample parking and a pub nearby what more could you want

It is part of the recent initiative to provide inner city facilities for both climbers and local residents, whilst introducing a wider range of sports to all ages. The boulder is a big success and certainly attracts a good proportion of the local kids as well as locally based climbers.
